The Malaga Provincial Council highlights the economic growth of 18.3%, thus increasing the profitability of investments in the whole territory of the Costa el Sol.<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The Diputaci\u00f3n de M\u00e1laga has taken stock of the tourist year with the greatest economic impact, historically, <\/strong>on the Costa del Sol. During the last 12 months, tourist activity soared to 17,081 million, 18.3% more than in 2019, when a record was already broken.<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Although global socio-economic developments are putting the first four months of 2023 in jeopardy, the offer for this period is 19% higher than in 2022, to reach 3.2 million<\/strong>The Malaga Provincial Council has stated.<\/p>\n

The investment that this supra-municipal body has planned for 2023 includes an increase of 2 million to 15.1 million euros, with an action plan to reinforce the tourist source markets that grew the most over the past year.<\/strong>The EU is also committed to other countries in constant evolution, such as the USA and Canada. It will also work on the search for new \"digital nomads<\/strong>\u00a0and in strengthening inland tourism, with actions in the Guadalhorce Valley and Axarquia, where work is being done to open new routes aimed at active tourism, after those already developed in other regions of Malaga.<\/p>\n

This return on investment on the Costa del Sol, which is on the rise, with a commitment to quality tourism as an objective, is reflected in the fact that the number of visitors reached 13 million and represents a decrease of 2.7% over 2019 (which has not prevented a record in terms of income).<\/strong>. The domestic market was again key to the recovery, accounting for 42% of overnight stays in hotels and flats.<\/p>\n
